Flowers and the Garden

We planted flowers in our front bed. Our mums had come back from last year, but will flower later and we wanted to make the bed look prettier in the present.
We picked up a few flowers at a couple local green houses. In all, we spent about $10.

We had a few to put in our pots to tie in the flowers on one side of our front door to the pots which sit on the other side.

Our Garden continues to Grow

June 30th, the first flower appeared on our zucchini.

We have two plants growing quite well.

Our third...well, it got a little munched early on and now is quite prolific and wild-like with its leaves. We're not sure how it will turn out at this point.
July 2nd both zucchini plants produced new flowers. They're pretty. If they grow more, we may not be able to walk along the path around the house.
Our alyssum  finally blossomed. We planted a few of our green house flowers here as well.

Boy, have the tomatoes grown. They are really getting tall.
We even have tomatoes starting to form.

Our grape tomatoes starting to form.

Tomatoes continue blossoming.

The main tomatoes are getting pretty big.
I started a couple tomato plants by seed. I want to see if we'll be able to get any fruit from them.

It is so much fun to watch the garden grow.

We're now eating several peas every day. It is quite delightful.

  1. Your zuccini will grow. May not only block your walkway, but could block the driveway! =-O

  2. Things look wonderful! I picked our first small zucchini yesterday and a small bunch of green beans. Our peas are nearly past I think, we haven't had a very large harvest this year. Our black berries are great though! If you run across some scrap pieces of lattice, you should make screens for those air conditioning units. Something to cover them up and plants to grow on!
